We’re Jason and Melissa, and that’s our daughter, Josie. We live in a 108 year-old traditional farmhouse that the previous owners Victorianed the pants off of. Or, in the spirit of Victorian design, the previous owners Victorianed three different colors of pants onto the house, then added lace curtains to them.
Our goal is to return our home to its roots using local materials, hand craftsmanship, and sweaty armpits.

About 30 or so years ago I found a desk chair that I had intended to buy a roll top desk for someday. It was coated in a style of antiquing popular in those days where you painted on a latex undercoat then a few days later a contrasting overcoat that you wiped off after a few minutes. By coincidence it matched my Sears kit desk that my folks had built for me many years earlier. Thinking it was Oak under the paint I was in no hurry to strip it. Later to my surprise I found out it was Cherry or Mahogany, anyway the wood is red. It was made by the Milwaukee chair company but doesn’t look like your chair photo. Mine has a back and arms that appear as one piece and flow together. It’s in mint condition and I wondered if you could tell me what it’s worth or where I might finally find a roll top desk to match it.? Any information about my chair would be very appreciated. Thank you for your time and efforts.—–Dave
